If if file with someone who has a tax lien against them for unpaid student loans will they keep the refund?

I thought about filing taxes with my boyfriend, but I have unpaid student loans. Since there is a tax lien against me, will they keep the refund or not. If we get a refund, can they audit us and make us pay that money back?

Absolutely yes.
You can't file a joint return with a boyfriend, therefore HIS refund is safe. (YOURS of course is not.) If you file a joint return with a boyfriend and are caught you could be prosecuted for tax fraud. Don't go there! You are single and that is your only filing option. What part of MARRIED Filing Jointly is unclear to you?
Not sure how you would be filing "with" your boyfriend. If you could figure out how to do it, then yes, they could and would, You can only file jointly if married as far as I know. neither of you can claim each other, so I don't see how you could file on one return anyway.
You can't file jointly if you are not married, so it is a non-issue.
You can not file joint return unless you live in a state where a common law marriage is recognized. Once you file joint return your common law marriage is recognized.
