  1. Tax lien is usually placed by county/city when the owner does not pays his property taxes. Call your county's office (where property is located) and ask them about the lien. In some county's you can even look up this information online. You will need parcel id (of condo) for easier resolution.
  2. You really don't need to know about all the details except the amount. Any lender will insist, and so should you, that the lien be paid off from funds in the escrow as a condition of sale. The county assessor or tax collector will know the details but they really don't affect you as a buyer other than you may think that the current owner being short of funds for taxes may also have been short of funds for maintenance. Be careful. Good luck!
  3. Where is the tax lien located ? that has everything to do how you can go about aquiring the property. You may not have to have a mortgage to actually purchase the property. what state , county area ......
  4. YOUR BUYING A PROPERTY WITH A TAX LIEN WELL YOU SHOULD FIRST CONTACT THE COUNTY TAX ACCESSOR , IF YOU DONT KNOW THERE NUMBER GOOGLE OR YAHOO SEARCH THE COUNTY NAME AND STATE CALL THE MON WITH PARCEL NUMBER , THEY CAN GIVE ALL INFORMATION YOU NEED , I KNOW THIS BECAUSE I BUY FOECLOSURES , P.S. IM ALSO LANDTRADER@YAHOOGROUPS SITE MODERATOR
  5. Oh boy. Whatever you do, DO NOT RELY ON A REAL ESTATE AGENT FOR TAX ADVICE. I know, I am a real estate agent and most of us know absolutely nothing when it comes to taxes but still do not refrain from giving poor advice. More importantly though, I am a tax professional and have dealt with these tax issues for almost fourteen years. You should ask the title company handling the escrow, or simply a title company if there is not one involved yet for a preliminary title report and for the information on the tax lien or liens attached to the specific property. You can find a wealth of information on liens themselves on my website at eTaxrelief.com. Christopher R. Jacquez President eTaxrelief
